EZ -PURGE
CERABACKING STRIP – FIBACK
The I-Purge comes equipped with several highly advanced features such as its Quick Connect Fittings that snap-in place and allow easy assembly and disassembly of components.
EZ Purge saves valuable labor hours on dam construction and is easy to use. The operator simply peels, inserts, and presses the purge dam into place.
Fiback reduces set-up, clean up and weld time; eliminates post-weld grinding and back gouging and increases work efficiency while minimizing costs.
SOLUTION-GAP & STEEL GAP
WATER SOLUBLE PRODUCTS
For operators who prefer a more traditional approach to socket welding, Aquasol offers SteelSpace stainless steel socket weld spacer rings.
Water Soluble Paper provides an excellent barrier used to retain noble gases such as argon and helium within the weld zone during TIG welding of stainless steel and aluminum pipes.
PERFECT WELD STEAM
High-quality surface condition of the root with regard to oxidation and root shaping
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY
Measures must be taken when welding complex materials to prevent the risk of ignitable gas mixtures and the uncontrolled ingress of unwanted air.
What is Pipe Purging?
Displacing the air and flushing the root area is called pipe purging. During cooling, flushing with the backing gas must be carried out until no further reaction with the air can take place.
How to Purge Pipes?
When purging stainless steel pipes, you should follow a few guidelines. This is the only way to ensure your safety and achieve the best possible result.
When purging pipes, particular attention must be paid to the following:
Lighter gases from above
Introduce heavy gases from below
The selection of the gas also depends on the position of the weld seam on the component
The formation process must include:
Displacing the air in the root area before welding
Maintaining during welding
Flushing on cooling after welding until no more oxidation occurs.
In the case of stainless steels, this temperature is approx. 250 °C
The three steps must also be carried out during tacking, since the oxides are not removed when the tacking points are welded over.
